Welcome to the
en Plein Air
Painting Festival
September 30 - October 6, 2017
The Vermont Institute of Natural Science was first established in response to the pollution of the Ottauquechee River. In celebration of our 45th birthday, we also celebrate the remarkable success of these efforts as we enjoy the pristine beauty of the Ottauquechee River.
The Vermont Institute of Natural Science will launch its 3rd en Plein Air Painting Festival on September 30, 2017 at the VINS Nature Center. Come paint to celebrate the remarkable beauty and diversity of the Ottauquechee River watershed ecosystem, its vibrant human and natural communities, and the important message of conservation of these forests and waterways.
En Plein Air, “in the open air,” describes the act of painting outdoors with the use of natural lighting. This festival concentrates on mindful, artistic inspiration and exploration of the beauty the natural world embodies.
Festivities include an en Plein Air Painting Competition, Quick Paint, Art Sale and Exhibition, informative workshops and demonstrations, and more for artists and visitors.
